Older Nintendo 3DS games make it to eShop- ride a damn horse anywhere, anytime

The highlight of yesterday’s downloadable offerings on Nintendo’s various online stores is the addition of first-party titles Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, and Star Fox 64 3D to the Nintendo eShop. Now people who hate carrying a bunch of cartridges around can spend just shy of 160 American dollars ($39.99 each) for the ability to slap these four games on the SD card in their Nintendo 3DS systems for maximum portability.

This batch of four titles is the first group of previously released 3DS games to be made available as digital downloads.Since the release of New Super Mario Bros. 2 in August Nintendo has implemented simultaneous release for all first-party retail games as downloads on the eShop. Third parties have the option to release retail titles on the eShop as well, but so far none have done so.

Also the NES version of Gradius came out on the eShop yesterday. It’s not the best home version of Gradius, or even the best on the Nintendo 3DS, but it’s cheap and readily available unlike the other one. If you have a PSP for some reason then you should track down the Gradius Collection instead as your consolation prize for owning a PSP.
